Recent additions. The following projects
have been added since our last newsletter. |
 |

Now
House, showcasing building systems from Clever Homes, will
be constructed soon in San Francisco at SBC Park. We have added
Now House to the fabzone. |

|
We
added Clay House by
Tone Wheeler/Environa Studio in Sydney to the fabzone. Clay
House is one of the six Houses of the Future on show in Australia

Ten
Year Hotel is a container-based studio design project by Lee
Ferguson and Jonathan Whittaker. It offers a temporary approach
to hotel design dealing with city, surface, and cell. |

|
Mobile
Atelier, a University of Virginia project dating from the
year 2000 has been added to containerbay. |
 |
|
Cardboard
House is a recent addition to otherfab. This is a relocatable
temporary housing solution. A prototype will be on display in
Sydney as part of the Houses of the Future program

Recent updates and announcements. The
following projects have been updated since our last newsletter. |

Edgar Blazona'sMD
280 prototype will be listed for auction on eBay on October 14,
2004. The starting bid for the 10 day auction will be $39,000
and will include all appliances. More information will be available
at www.modulardwellings.com
or at eBay at the start of the auction. |

Abode
by Modabode was selected to be one of the six Houses
of the Future, an event part of Australia's Year
of the Build Environment. Abode is being presented as the
Steel
House. |

The first
production Glidehouse was recently shown at an open house at
Lake Chelan in Washington state. We posted some photos. |

|
Jennifer
& Barry, the first buyers of an LV Home have updated their
online
diary where they track progress as they build their dwelling.
They have also launched a web site for their vacation house
which they have named Luminhaus
|

Lazor Office
has launched a basic website
promoting their Flatpak House. Their info PDF is posted at the
web site. |

fabprefab
turned one year old in early August. Thank you to everyone who
has supported fabprefab over the past year. |

- We've

ran Prefab
rehab "Star architects are adding style and substance
to prefab homes as manufacturers try to boost their share
in a sizzling market".
- Modern
house designs on way published at newsobserver.com profiles
a modern housing development announced by developer Randy
Voller and Nathan Wieler of Wieler Homes. The development
will be in Chatham Forest outside of Pittsboro, North Carolina.
- The
Los Angeles Times ran Prefab becomes ab fab.
"Visionary architects are reinventing factory-built houses.
Their designs are efficient, eco-friendly and surprisingly
stylish -- created for people with more taste than money."

- The
Washington Times published House on a Shelf which
examined the house for Andy and Michael Smull by Resolution
for Architecture. The article has been archived and is available
for purchase from the Washington Times web site.
- Studio
804's Modular 1 appeared in the New York Times.
