modular, modernist... say what?

The projects listed here represent explorations of prefab as a design and construction ideology. For one reason or other the projects do not meet the requirements to be featured on the fablist.

The fabzone is divided into three sections:
Section 1. Built work that is not being actively marketed as a "product".
This category includes:
- One-off custom residences that utilize various approaches to prefab.
- Prototypes that have been built but are not being actively marketed as purchasable "product".
Section 2. Unbuilt projects.
This category includes:
- Actively marketed products that do not, as yet, have a built example we can refer to.
- Conceptual or experimental projects that may never be built.
Section 3. Small scale or mobile work.
This category includes:
- Sheds, retreats, relocatable trailers, etc
- Structures that are unlikley to be used as a permanent residence.

Other notes:
- At this time only single-family dwellings qualify for listing in the fabzone.
- Some of these projects are "not quite modernist" in form, but have characteristics that justify a listing here rather than on the otherfab page.
- Projects are listed alphabetically by Designer/Architect so that multiple projects by a single designer appear in close proximity.

- If you are an architect or building designer please use our project submission form
to advise us of your prefab projects that should be listed here.
